Content Designer - HealthDirect

HealthDirect is Australia’s leading provider of online health information, and was entrusted by the Australian Government to lead the provision of health advice in communications on the COVID-19 pandemic.
My role was as a Content designer with a focus on redesign of site content to provide a better experience for the user. This role involved:
Content design for various channels, such as our healthdirect and corporate websites and working with UX teams to refine content for applications.
Redesign of content through analysis, stakeholder consultation and research for a better user experience.
Production management of content development from ideation to launch with competing development timeline with a team of writers, editors and clinical reviewers. I use Agile methodologies to ensure seamless and timely delivery of content.
Development of content for voice automation products such as Alexa or Google Home.
COVID-19 content development, used by the National Coronavirus Helpline and our applications such as the healthdirect restriction checker and the eligibility checker, both of which are primary tools used by the public, in booking and for finding out what they can and can’t do in their state or territory.
Digital Product Manager - Musica Viva
2017-2018
This role encompassed product development management of all of Musica Viva’s online digital resources, including editorial oversight, development and management of development team.
Successfully initiated and project managed the onboarding of new development team for the Musica Viva in Schools online platform, overseeing sprints using agile methodologies.
Implemented helpdesk workflow processes allowing administration staff more time to manage customer queries online systematically.
Redeveloped and implemented a professional development online resource, leading to improved branding, student and staff satisfaction and improved the professional digital offerings of Musica Viva.
Editor, Content Manager - Health.Vic and Better Health Channel
2008-2017
This role involved development management of multiple concurrrent online projects, strategic advice, content planning and strategic planning of digital projects for Health.vic.gov.au, and editorial work for Better Health Channel.
Developing content with SMEs to publish on Health.vic, and Better Health Channel.
Successful implementation of distributed authoring project, changing publication processes to allow for greater speed and agi lity in publication across very large organisation, with historically slow turn arounds for content approval.
Leading a large element of high stakes website transformation – bringing a static site of 85,000 pages into a dynamic content management system. Managing a small team of writers and content producers. Content was delivered on time and within budget.
Successful stakeholder engagement across all digital projects, requiring buy -in from staff across all areas of the organisation.
Assistant Editor - Houses Magazine
2007-2008
The primary function of this role was to provide support for the development of bi-monthly publication Houses magazine. This involved sub-editing of articles, liaising with architects, authors, photographers and graphic designers. In addition to a high quantity of sub-editorial work across Architecture Product News and the RAIA Architects’ Handbook, this role required writing articles for Kitchens + Bathrooms magazine.
